Nobles County Historical Society
"Dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of Nobles County Minnesota."

The Nobles County Historical Society welcomes those who would like to add their talents to the society. We offer a range of volunteer opportunities that are mutually beneficial to the society and the volunteer. Volunteers of all ages and skills are always needed and welcomed. As a volunteer, you can make new friends and help us complete important projects.  If you have some time to spare to help us preserve history, please drop by or give us a call at 507-376-4431. We can find a project to suit your interests and skills. Some examples are:

  • Using our digital camera and photographing for Now & Then photos
  • Using our digital one button scanner, scan photographic slides, scrapbooks and photo albums
  • Develop displays for the Museum / Pioneer Village
  • Participating on Committees or the Board of Directors
  • Assisting with special events and programs
  • Clipping newspaper articles for our History Files
  • Entering data in collections and archives databases
  • Catalog and researching objects
  • Sorting aerial photos into township and 1/4 sections and labeling them
  • Research and write articles for the newsletter and/or Daily Globe
  • Contribute to our Facebook and Google plus pages; help design a webpage
  • Doing data entry for archives indexes
  • Helping with maintenance at the Village, such as painting
